some mommy bragging

My kids are pretty cool. Some times when we're having not so great days I think I need to remind myself about how rare those days are. Logan amazes me every day on how much stuff he picks up on and understand around here. (It amazes me even more cause I don't think Kendalynn was nearly as good at this age.) Every night after the kids are dressed in pj's and ready for bed, we read scriptures with Kendalynn. (Tyler and I read 2 verses each, and then we have Kendalynn repeat 1 verse. We've been doing this about 3 months...and we're on page 31. Slow and steady!) Sometimes Logan is calm enough to sit with us, and if not he just wanders. And after reading we say prayers, and for that we get Logan to sit on one of our laps and we help him fold his arms. Well twice now this week I've had to put the kids to bed without Tyler here. Each time Logan voluntarily got up on the couch and sat with us and grabbed the extra Book of Mormon while I read with Kendalynn, and each time when I closed it and put it on the desk he put his copy down and automatically folded his arms! It makes me happy to see the pattern that we're setting and the example that we're setting for our children. :) (and as soon as prayers are done, we're not sure why, but Logan squirms down and runs over to the fireplace, sits on the edge, and waits for everyone to come and give him his goodnight kisses. Then as I carry him upstairs he repeats in all these different "voices" of his night night. "nie nie, nie nie."

Another silly story of Kendalynn really quick. It's not really uncommon for Kendalynn to get out of bed once or twice even when we lay her down at night. Sometimes she'll come all the way down, and sometimes I'll find her on the stairs just hanging out. So tonight I went to check the stairs just in case, and noticed the light I plug in the hallway upstairs was unplugged and on the ground, cause when you pull it out it turns into a flashlight. (which when you pull it out the end turns into a flash light, which I've used to help her find things in the middle of the night. rag, pacifier, certain toys, etc...) So I assumed she was wandering in places she shouldn't be, and was surprised when I got upstairs that she was nowhere to be found and her door was almost closed like normal. I got the light and went in her room where she was under the covers going to sleep, and she explained very sweetly that her cup was "gone" and she had to use the light to find it, and it was back now so she was going to bed. :)

I just love my kids. They're so sweet and wonderful and I love how well they play together.

progress!

I got the stitches out last week and things are going good. I still had to keep my pinky wrapped and taped cause it wasn't sealing up, and you can see its still scabbed but it almost doesn't hurt at all! I'll be excited when I get all the feeling back..in about a year. (I'll tell you..its much harder to play rockband when I can't tell if I'm pushing the button down all the way cause I can't feel it!)

silly girl

So last night half of Belle's face got scratched off as you can see. Yikes. A certain little girl won't admit that she did it, but as she's been playing I suddenly heard some interesting conversations going on with Belle, and Noah. (yes..as in Noah and the ark.)

Noah: what happened to your face?
Belle: I don't know.
Noah: tell the truth!
Belle: I don't know!
Noah: tell the truth again!
Belle: I scratched it off last night.
Noah: oh. Don't do that. We only color on paper!

She's a little bizarre, but I couldn't love my little nut job anymore. She cracks me up all day with her silly imagination, and I love listening to her play!
