California Part 2!

Well after graduation we started our long journey off to our new life in Raleigh, and our first stop was a fun-filled adventure to California!  We spent about a week there doing various fun activities with my parents, Carrie & Duben, and a few good visits from Topher as well.  Among the funtivities were a SF Giants game(the shortest baseball game I've EVER seen), a sun-filled day at the beach (with sadly small waves...but still fun!), a trip to Santa Cruz, and of course a trip to Carmel beach with hot dogs and s'mores.  Fun fun fun in the sun!

I was wondering why it wouldn't budge...

All us kids.  :)

She's such a California girl! (at heart!)

July 4th - "I'll know it when I see it."

While still in Rexburg at school we had the great opportunity of spending this thrilling day of fireworks, street booths and the...well...such diverse group of citizens of Idaho Falls and surrounding areas with Grandma Jenkins, Kara, and Carrie and Duben. Fun fun fun... However, The REAL story of the 4th of July festivities however begins long after the sun had gone down.

So as the fireworks died off and we got our things together we proceeded to our cars, which we had decided Tyler and Kara would take Grandma back home, while Buggy and I would join Carrie and Duben to head straight back to Rexburg to get Buggy-love into bed. So Carrie, Duben and I decided the best way would be the back roads. We had a horrible map but figured it wouldn't be too bad so onward we went. It started off great, besides the fact that Carrie started to complain about needing to go to the bathroom. In fact, 5 or so minutes in we reached a point that took us about an hour to get to last year. WONDERFUL! ...or so we thought...

As we wandered quite aimlessly around the back roads of the area, nuuuumerous times we figured we knew exactly where we were or what we were looking for. "I'll know it when I see it", says Duben as he drives us in an hour long circle. A circle you ask? Why yes dear reader. While driving we came upon Ririe and decided to turn left towards Rexburg to go far far from Ririe, for we did not want to go that far south or what not. Well, after a few wrong turns here and a few wrong turns there we came upon a sign for which we all thought would say Rexburg was only a few miles away with our comfy beds, yummy night time snacks, and a toilet waiting for Carrie's immediate use. But no...this particular sign ruined all hopes we thought we had of being anywhere close. Thats right ladies and gentlemen. We had made our way back into the heart of Ririe! So we asked for directions to get on the right route back to Rexburg.

Wowee! So no...Duben will never live down "I'll know it when I see it." Carrie and I came up with a great version of the song "Give Said The Little Stream", we teased Duben a great deal, and watched for glowing eyes of small creatures on the side of the road. Oh yes...fun was had by all.

Snippity Snippers

Alright...so I've been angry with my hair for a while now and it was time to do something about it. But in this house we don't believe in getting normal haircuts from people who actually know how, so I gave Carrie a 'holler' and she came over that night to chop it off. Whoop dee doo! Now...lets just say it was a good idea that she started going for a longer length...cause it ended up shorter than that. BUT, I love it! I had to do a few minor adjustments the morning after but now I think it's juuust great! Wahoo!

Before the snip...

During the snip...I THOUGHT the garbage bag would help...but...no

The end!

Hooray for cute hair!

I just know she loves it...AND she can't pull it anymore!

Attack of the Bee

So...here I was sitting at the computer while baby bopper played happily in her crib, when all the sudden there was a scary buzzing noise.... A GIANT bee appeared in the room from the hardly even open window! Now...this was no happy pleasant bee...it was an angry evil bee. From the moment it arrived it kept flying right at me and right at poor baby, and frantically flying right at the window in poor attempts to escape. Silly me...I started moving around the room trying to dodge the scary bug since I've never been stung and don't plan on it happening anytime soon. All while poor baby is sitting there watching me run around and watching this bug and puts two and two together and she started getting a little scared and whimpering. So me being super mommy...I open the door in her room that leads to more doors that lead to outside, grab my little bopper and run from the room so the scary bee can fly out and away to the happy outside. HOORAY! So...if my poor little baby grows up with a fear of bees....I guess we all know why.
